Exploded-view drawings as image maps

A spare-parts catalogue for an all-terrain vehicle: hundreds of exploded-view drawings, each part clickable, each click landing in a revision-aware parts table with a basket that mails the order.

The tool that made it possible was the oldest one on the list, HTML image maps, one per drawing, generated as PHP fragments. No CMS, no framework, a MySQL schema with a revision column. Two weeks of commits at a pace I have not repeated since.
