Reading price tags with on-device OCR

A travel helper meant to read a price tag through the camera and show it in another currency. In one week with a collaborator, one branch each, merged through pull requests, it reached the first half: a live camera view with on-device text recognition drawing what it read over the preview.

The currency step stayed on the README's flowchart. What I keep from it: recognising text in Flutter is a plugin and an afternoon; turning recognised text into a number you can trust is the actual product, and that was the half we did not reach.
